Alpha Logic celebrates shortlisting for national award
Apr 06, 2016
Alpha Logic is celebrating being named as a finalist in the Business Partnership category of the prestigious National Recycling Awards 2016, hosted by Materials Recycling World magazine.
One of the most recognised award ceremonies in the industry, the National Recycling Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the recycling and resource management sector.
The Business Partnership category looks to commend partnerships and the innovative working that goes above and beyond contractual business agreements.
With the aim of dramatically reducing both the amount of waste sent to landfill and the cost implications for local businesses, Alpha Logic strives to ensure that as many local businesses can benefit from a clear waste management strategy through partnerships within the city.
To achieve these aims, Alpha Logic has formed partnerships with three key organisations in Plymouth: the Plymouth City Centre Company, the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership and the Green City Partnership (working with Plymouth City Council). Each of the partnerships strives to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill, reduce the costs of waste management to businesses and to ensure that Plymouth maintains its reputation as a green, sustainable city.
Neil Stallard, Director at Alpha Logic, was overjoyed with the nomination: “To be shortlisted for this award is a remarkable achievement. As the biggest awards in our industry, it’s a true testament to our hard-working team and the other organisations that we work alongside.
“The organisations that we are fortunate enough to work with cover an incredible network of businesses between them. Since we’ve been involved in these three partnerships, we have worked with hundreds of businesses. Not only have they been able to dramatically improve their waste management, they’ve also managed to save money that has then been reinvested back into their businesses.
“We’re looking forward to the awards and cannot wait to see who walks away with the title on the night.”
Councillor Tudor Evans, from Plymouth City Council, stated: “Being shortlisted as a finalist in the National Recycling Awards is a great coup for Plymouth and a great endorsement for the Green City Partnership working across the city. We have achieved so much by working together and it’s great to get the recognition we all wholeheartedly deserve for it. We look forward to continuing to maintain and improve Plymouth’s standing as an innovator in the field of urban sustainability and waste management.”
The MRW National Recycling Awards will take place on Wednesday 6th July at the London Hilton Hotel in London. With 700 attendees last year, this year’s awards are set to be bigger and better than ever.
