Running For Charity
Mar 29, 2019
David Williams, one of our National Account Managers, will be running the Plymouth Half Marathon on the 19th of May, raising money for Hugs From Henry.
The charity is based in Plymouth and supports families who have children with rare childhood cancers. Whether emotional support, making a memory or helping families keep in touch, they give people somewhere to turn to in difficult times.
David took up running back in 2012 and ran his first half marathon in 2013. As a previous heavy smoker, he challenged himself to get healthier. Since then, he has run the Plymouth Half Marathon four times and the Torbay Half Marathon once. Last year, he took part in the largest attended race so far, The Cardiff Half Marathon, after a year of injuries making training almost impossible. On Remembrance Sunday last November, he ran the 5-mile charity race across Marazion beach in Cornwall.
The Plymouth Half Marathon is a challenging, yet scenic 13.1 mile course taking in Plymouth’s famous landmarks. An avid runner, we’re sure David will manage this just fine!
