WEEE Waste

The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive was made law in the UK in 2007.

The WEEE Directive aims to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic waste produced and to encourage the re-use and recycling of these products. Electrical and electronic equipment falling under the WEEE Directive includes:

• Household appliances such as washing machines, irons and kettles;
• Entertainment equipment – televisions, stereos and video players;
• Power tools;
• IT and telecommunications equipment;
• Electronic toys, leisure and sports equipment;
• Medical devices.

WEEE Regulations Compliance

All WEEE regulated waste must be disposed of via an approved authorised treatment facility (AATF) and the necessary documentation must be provided.

Our customers can be rest-assured that we have an in-depth knowledge of the WEEE Directive, the Producer Compliance Scheme and all the legal requirements for the disposal of WEEE materials.

As part of our WEEE service, we ensure that all documentation including the Duty of Care Waste Transfer Note and Certificate of Disposal are completed and retained to prove WEEE regulations compliance.
