Plastic may have changed our lives irrevocably since its invention in 1862¹ but despite its often lifesaving and life changing uses, it is also having a catastrophic effect on our planet and its nature, particularly marine life. How has this happened and what can we do to reverse this disastrous impact?
There’s a bin for everything or there should be. As a business, it’s all too easy to think that managing your waste is a waste of time, overlooking the impact it can have on both your bottom-line as well the environment. Clearly that’s not the view of the Government who, in January 2015, put in place new regulations that required businesses to have separate collections for paper, metal, plastic and glass in addition to other waste streams.
Alpha Logic has once again grown its team with the appointment of new Commercial Recycling Manager David Williams this summer.
With extensive experience in Trade Waste at Plymouth City Council, David has transferred his 12 years’ experience to his new role at Alpha Logic.
Alpha Logic will be taking part in the Cornish Cider Run on Saturday 16th September to help raise money for Hugs From Henry, a fantastic local charity that looks to support families suffering from childhood cancer Neuroblastoma – a rare cancer most commonly found in children under five.
These days there’s a certificate for everything and that includes waste recycling and management. We at Alpha Logic are governed by our desire to deliver the best we can for our customers, both for service and environmentally. To ensure we work at the highest level we have chosen to become both an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accredited company.
Cornwall, land of legend, romance and the best childhood summer holidays ever! A rolling landscape of green fields, sea and sand, unspoilt and heaven-sent. But when your indigenous population of over 5 million* is doubled by an influx of about 5 million tourists every year it’s easy to see that keeping Cornwall clean is not any easy task.
Local waste management company Alpha Logic is enjoying a successful 2017 following impressive growth across all sectors of business last year. The last 12 months have seen the Saltash-based company expand its team, turnover, premises, geographical reach and service offering.
The Alpha Logic team has been bolstered by the appointment of Claire Smith as their new Commercial Recycling Manager.
Claire, whose previous experience includes working in property, as a project coordinator in the public audit finance industry, and also in debt management as a trainer and team leader, is now helping Alpha Logic to develop and promote the company’s name within the highly competitive recycling market.
Adding to its existing fleet of nine specialist waste collection vehicles, Alpha Logic has now invested in its first refuse truck, to provide a direct trade waste service to its customers.
At Alpha Logic, we’re celebrating the end of a successful 2016 after achieving the new standards for both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
